$700,000 Raised For Starship Children’s Hospital

We’re excited to share that we’ve reached an amazing $700,000 fundraising milestone with Ruby Seeto for Starship Children’s Hospital. A huge heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful customers who have loved and purchased Ruby’s tea towels over the years – this wouldn’t have been possible without you. Working Together

We’ve been working with Ruby Seeto since 2009, when she was an 11 year old cancer survivor, designing colourful tea towels to raise funds for Starship. Every year, Ruby creates a new tea towel design which is produced and sold by Wallace Cotton. The funds raised every year contribute to specific projects within Starship, such as improvements to the oncology ward, the neonatal simulation programme, an international training fellowship for a Specialist Starship Oncologist and established an ovarian cryopreservation banking protocol to benefit young cancer patients.

A Personal Connection

Ruby Seeto, a driving force behind the partnership, has a personal connection to Starship, having received treatment there as a young cancer patient.

“I am absolutely humbled by the unwavering support of everyone who has purchased a tea towel or wash cloth over the past 14 years,” said Ruby Seeto. “It’s incredible to reach this milestone and so heartwarming to see so many people rally behind a cause that is so close to my heart, and to know that something as simple as purchasing a tea towel can make such a big difference.”

Starship Citrus Collection

Support our collaboration with our current Starship Citrus Tea Towel and Washcloth Set. Ruby’s current tea towel design features pretty, colourful dehydrated citrus slices along with an easy to follow recipe to create them for yourself. This year proceeds from the sale of Ruby’s latest citrus tea towel and washcloth designs will fund the upgrade of the staff tea room in the Children’s Emergency Department at Starship, transforming it from a functional space, to a warm and comforting environment where the hardworking Starship Emergency Department team can rest and recharge on their well-earned breaks.

The Future is Looking Bright

Wallace Cotton and Ruby Seeto are committed to continue working together for such a great cause. Plans are already underway for this years tea towel and Ruby’s beautifully vibrant new design for 2023 will be released later this year.
