Tips for Sleeping Better in Warmer Weather
18 Oct, 2023
Getting a good nights sleep during the warmer nights of summer
We love sleep! Good sleep is so important for our health and well-being. As the seasons change and the nights become warmer, it can be harder to fall asleep and stay asleep if you’re too hot. Being able to regulate your body temperature is crucial to a restful nights sleep.
We recommend changing your heavy, cosy winter bedding to lightweight, breathable sheets and duvet cover sets made from crisp cotton percale, relaxed pure linen and sustainable organic cotton. Discover our Heirloom, Loft Linen and Purity bedding collections designed for sleeping in every season but even more perfect for summer slumber.
Make the switch to lighter layers
Pack away your winter weight duvet inners and heavy quilts until next autumn and make your bed with lighter layers for a cooler feel. From pure NZ wool and GOTS certified organic cotton to DOWNPASS certified duck feather and down, we have duvet inners to suit sleeping in the shoulder seasons and the hottest climates alike. These lightweight inners are bedding essentials for the warmer months ahead. Complete your bed with a light throw or crisp cotton quilt which can be lovely to pull up for a sneaky afternoon nap or summer siesta.

Keeping cool on warm nights
Now with lighter sheets, bedding and sleepwear sorted for summer, the final way to keep cool for sleeping on warm nights is to make sure your bedroom is the right temperature. We recommend aiming for 16-18 degrees celcius for the best nights sleep. Keep a window open at night (with an insect screen) to let the fresh air flow in or set your air con unit or use a fan on a low setting to keep the air circulating. A quiet and darkened room also aids better sleep.
