Caring for Cotton

Caring for cotton
Whether it’s cotton, cotton percale, organic cotton or yarn dyed cotton; pure cotton fabric is at the heart of our bed linen collections. We carefully source *OEKO-TEX certified cotton and *GOTS certified organic cotton from our suppliers, to ensure we’re creating the finest natural and sustainable bed linen for our customers. Our sustainable approach to textiles means that we make our collections in small batches and repurpose fabric offcuts into smaller items to reduce wastage. Following our fabric caring tips will lengthen the life of your items and keep them looking and feeling beautiful. The longer pieces are kept, cherished, handed down, repurposed and saved from landfill, the more sustainable they become.
*STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® Certification ensures manufacturers have adhered to environmentally friendly production methods. Products have been tested and proven free of harmful levels of toxic substances.
*Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) ensures organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing to provide a credible assurance to the end consumer.

Care instructions for washing cotton, cotton percale, organic cotton and yarn dyed cotton
Cold machine wash with mild laundry powder or liquid.
Line dry in shade or tumble dry on warm heat. Warm iron.
Do not soak. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. Bleach can weaken fabric, and fabric softener contains silicone which creates a waterproof coating on textiles.
Did you know?
All our cotton bedding is slightly oversized to allow for shrinkage during washing, this will ensure your fitted sheets will still fit the bed after laundering. Please move your cotton bed linen and homeware frequently as prolonged exposure to natural light or direct sunlight will result in fading.
Top Tip – turn patterned and coloured bedding inside out when washing and line drying to prevent fading.
Top Tip – adding 2 teaspoons of baking soda to your wash will keep your whites pristine.
